A somber mood looms over the city of Banjarbaru, South Kalimantan, following the tragic discovery of a man named Rhamadhana, who was found dead under mysterious circumstances. His body was discovered lying in the bushes beside the tanker truck he was driving for PT Yosua Energi Sinaga. The incident took place in Unsum Village, Dusun Tengah District, East Barito Regency, on Thursday afternoon around 1:30 PM local time.

According to eyewitness reports, the event began when a local resident noticed a stationary tanker truck parked oddly at the roadside. The truck’s hazard lights were blinking, and the cabin door was wide open, which prompted the passerby to investigate further. Upon closer inspection, the lifeless body of the driver was found sprawled in the nearby bushes.

Shocked by the discovery, the resident immediately alerted other locals and the village head. After conducting an initial examination, they confirmed that the driver, identified as Rhamadhana, was no longer showing signs of life. The case was swiftly reported to the local police precinct, Polsek Dusun Tengah, who arrived on site to secure the area and begin their investigation.

Dusun Tengah Police Chief Iptu Suprayitno confirmed the discovery of the body. He stated that no visible signs of physical assault were observed during the initial examination. "The body has been transported to Ampah Public Health Center for a post-mortem to determine the cause of death," he said in an official press release.

Although early speculation suggests a possible health-related cause, such as a heart attack or severe fatigue, authorities have not ruled out other possibilities. The investigation remains ongoing while waiting for the official autopsy report. The victim’s family in Banjarbaru has been notified and arrangements are being made for the return of his remains.

Local residents expressed shock and sadness over the incident, describing Rhamadhana as a friendly and responsible individual. Community members also called on companies in the logistics and energy distribution sector to prioritize the safety and well-being of their drivers, noting the demanding conditions faced by those working in the field.

This tragic case adds to the growing number of sudden workplace fatalities among field workers in Indonesia’s logistics sector. Experts and local authorities have urged both public and private sectors to implement more rigorous health screenings and safety training programs to prevent future tragedies.

The police have asked the public to refrain from speculating while the case remains under investigation. They have assured that all findings will be disclosed transparently once the autopsy results are available.
